The FCC requires companies and individuals using radio frequencies listed in the Industrial/Business Pool to obtain a radio station license for these frequencies.

When you buy two-way radio equipment from us that requires FCC licensing you have three options:

1. Select "Apply" under the FCC License menu option and Add the FCC License type you need to your shopping cart.

This process can take up to 3 weeks which will delay the shipping of your radios. If you need the radios ASAP, you can buy the software and programming cable to program your FCC licensed frequencies once approved. In this case, we will ship the radios with 4 temporary frequencies that will allow you to operate while waiting for your license.

FCC licenses expire after 10 years unless you apply for renewal within 90 days of the expiration date.

2. Select "Decline" under the FCC License menu option and purchase the equipment as it is. We will program 2 channels with low power frequencies (2W) that do not require an FCC License.

3. Select "Own FCC License" under the FCC license menu option. If you wish, you can provide your FCC license frequency information to us and we'll program the equipment at no additional cost before shipping. Just email the information to [email protected] or call 1-800-268-4098.

The main benefit of using FCC licensed frequencies is less interference. No one except you should be using those frequencies in the geographical area where your FCC license applies. If you find out another company or individual are using your frequency/s you can start a claim with the FCC to force those operating illegally to stop.
