Please be aware that some vendors add a "read" and/or "write" password to the radios to prevent users from accessing the information programmed on the radio. Although this option can be useful to avoid unauthorized users from having access to the frequency information, it creates problems when the buyer needs to update information into the radio. Without the password, the radio can’t be programmed. We recommend you ask the seller to NOT program the radio with a password, or just give the seller a password you want them to use. Do not buy radios that you do not know their password. Without the password to allow you to make changes to your radio, your radio becomes useless.
Unless you have purchased the radios from us, you’ll need to contact your vendor to retrieve the password information.
